new grape leaves in vineyard

Vineyard Updates

Cellar 426 is growing! While there isn’t anything green growing yet, our exciting news is that we are expanding our vineyard. Last spring we planted two additional rows of grape vines of two different varieties, Petite Pearl and LaCrescent. You can taste the Petite Pearl grape as part of our Aspire Collection and the LaCrescent grape in both Riverview White and as part of our Linoma Lighthouse blend. In addition to those rows, we plan to plant four new rows of a grape called Clarion this spring. Expanding our acreage is exciting for us because it allows us to continually align with our goal of creating high quality, Nebraska wines right here in Ashland. Since these vines are recently planted, we won’t get a substantial crop until their 3rd year of growth. This is normal for grapevines as their first two years of production are focused around developing a trunk and all together ensuring that they develop a root system that can withstand our winters. Stay tuned for more updates about our plantings this spring.

My favorite winery in Nebraska. Great wine and beautiful spot. Sangria is amazing!!!
